Pyrotechnics and Special Effects Operators Subsidy Scheme under the Anti-epidemic Fund of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region
The Government has established the “Pyrotechnics and Special Effects Operators Subsidy Scheme” (the Scheme) under the Anti-epidemic Fund (AEF) to provide financial assistance to licensed special effects operators/assistants. The Scheme is now open for application from today (23 October) to 5pm, 13 November 2020.
The Scheme will provide a one-off subsidy of HK$7,500 to each eligible special effects operator (SEO) and assistant (SEA) holding at least one valid licence within 2020 (between 1 January and 30 September 2020) issued under the Entertainment Special Effects Ordinance (Cap. 560) and its subsidiary legislation, and who have not benefited from the Employment Support Scheme or any other sector-specific subsidy schemes under the AEF. Same practitioners holding different types of SEO/SEA licences should only be eligible to receive a maximum subsidy amount of HK$7,500.
